How can acupuncture help with fertility?

Acupuncture can be helpful for couples wanting to become pregnant, whether naturally or using IVF.

Having acupuncture while you're going through IVF could improve your chances of getting pregnant by 65%, acoording to a study in the British Medical Journal.

It has been used for centuries to treat fertility problems by rebalancing the body

I have recently become a founder member of the Zita West National Network of Affiliated Acupuncturists. Click here Click here

Zita West has been involved in fertility and pregnancy now for over 25 years, as a midwife, a nutritional advisor, an acupuncturist and as an author and consultant and has written a number of very readable books on fertility and pregnancy.

As a member of the network I have received training in Zita’s unique holistic approach to achieving optimum reproductive health as well as the diagnostic processes and treatment protocols used by her and her team. These cover a wide range of treatments to help:
* improve male and female fertility
* boost the chances of successful IVF
* improve pregnancy and pregnancy outcomes
* support post-natal recovery

This is how one mother described her acupuncture journey:

Healthy Magazine May/June 2008

"Acupuncture got me pregnant"

'I had acupuncture once a week at first, then fortnightly and monthly. After just two months of sessions I got pregnant naturally. I was so happy . . .

I kept having acupuncture throughout my preganancy . . . It helped me emotionally and physically. I felt very healthy. . .

I'd advise any couple having fertility problems to try acupuncture. Even if you choose to have it alongside IVF, it could help you cope with the whole experience. Just don't give up hope'
